LAXMAN DRIVAS

Laxman Drivas, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience working with youth in the eastern part of San Jose, has a personal connection to this work. Born on the East Coast, he relocated to San Jose at the tender age of seven, specifically settling in the east side of the city. Growing up, he was raised by a single mother of three, and his family faced numerous challenges, seeking every available form of support.

Laxman’s upbringing was marked by struggles and a troubled youth. However, the guidance and mentorship he received from counselors and mentors played a pivotal role in transforming his life. Today, he is dedicated to giving back to the same community he was raised in, co-founding The Heartworkers Union. Laxman firmly believes that “No kid should feel how I did, growing up hopeless and without determination.”

Drivas’s profound sense of purpose stems from his belief that he was born to help others, particularly the youth. He is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those who have faced similar challenges to his own.
